Pluvitec® Blocks and Crepines are part of the confined fund underdrain system developed by Hidro Solo and are part of the company's range of innovations for Water Treatment. It’s a high quality product with technical studies to attest their importance (check them out here) and are present in filters in water treatment plants in dozens of locations in Brazil.
The advantages of Pluvitec® Blocks and Crepines are diverse:
o The support bed media can be substantially reduced;
o Installation of confined Blocks in monolithic concrete, providing greater security;
o Quick and easy assembly;
o High rigidity in assembly;
o Works with or without backwash air;
o Eliminates the false bottom;
o Absolute uniformity of water and air distribution, providing better backwash performance, as the reports demonstrates;
o Absolutely standardized dimensions for mounting filters of any size and format;
o Customizable for the most diverse construction forms of sand filters, making the most of the available filter area;
o They do not require technical changes to the project or operational changes.
The Pluvitec® Blocks are produced in high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) and the Crepines have a shell injected in engineering plastic with a high fiberglass load (PA6-GF30), which, with its shape and overlapping discs, makes it completely collapse proof. This makes the cost of early dismantling of the filter for repair completely non-existent.
Check out a video where we test the resistance of Pluvitec® Crepines:
The constructive shape of the disc and the number of them mounted on the same Crepine, provides to each one a total passage area of more than 30 cm², with an individual opening (each groove) of 2 mm. This gives it very low pressure loss. The Crepines on the market today have a passage area of 2 to 3 cm², that is, 10 times less. As the backwash flow rate is 3 to 4 times the operation flow, the large passage and low pressure loss are even more important.
As a result of this work and study in search of innovation and high quality, Hidro Solo has accumulated success cases with the use of confined flows underdrain in water treatment plants of the most important sanitation companies in Brazil.
